A quick way to catch up when you lose the thread in class.
Result so far
Built and demonstrated an end-to-end prototype solo in one day. A judge suggested pitching it directly to Masters’ Union.
My contribution
I conceived, designed and built ClassOS on my own at the 8x hackathon on campus. Using the event’s Emergent and ElevenLabs credits, I connected the ElevenLabs API to my app and built live transcription, Catch Me Up, notes and quizzes, then presented the working flow.

Where it started.
The idea came to me the night before the hackathon: use a live transcript to help a student who has lost track of a class. A transcript alone leaves them with more to read. I wanted a short explanation of what was happening now, with notes and quizzes for later.
The decision
Put Catch Me Up first: one to three sentences about the current discussion. Notes and quizzes support that feature.
A very short build day
The organisers gave us Emergent and ElevenLabs credits and a day to build a consumer app. I already knew the problem I wanted to work on, but I still had to learn the tools and make the connection work.
I remember standing up to eat lunch because I did not want to lose any time. When the demo came, I explained why a student might need Catch Me Up before showing it. A judge suggested selling the app to Masters’ Union.

04 / Looking back
What I took away.
I started the pitch by explaining the problem before opening the app. The judge’s suggestion to take it to my college made the demo feel like the beginning of a conversation about use beyond the event.
- Explaining the classroom moment first gave the demo a clear purpose.
- Learning a new tool and connecting it to a working feature were part of the same day’s work.
What I would measure next
Test response time and answer quality with different accents, noisy rooms and changes of topic.
